Hyperthryroidism and atrial fibrillation? |
What do you think of the radio-active iodine treatment ? It workes. It will essentially kill off your thryroid gland almost all together and you will see the opposite spectrum then--hypothryoidism, but this is treated with thryoid replacement hormone. Hyperthyroidism not only causes atrial fibrillation, a very dangerous arrhythmia of the heart that can lead to strokes, heart attacks, and pulmonary eboli, but you risk malignant hyperthermia also with untreated hyperthyrodism. Radio-active iodine treatment is scary, just by the name, but it does work and you will feel so much better once your hormones are regulated. Good Luck. |
