Signs Of Atrial Fibrillation? |
So for the past couple years this happens every so often but when it does it seems to happen all day long and then stop for a couple weeks. Ill just be doing normal activities (driving watching t.v. etc...) and i will take a breath and it is like my heart skips a beat and then it pounds real hard then is normal. when it happens my chest gets tight and i cant breathe but when it happens it happens within a second. anything to be worried about? I'm 21, 6'2'', 162lbs, smoke 2-8 single ciggarettes daily, drink 6-18 beers daily, have crohns disease.I'm 21 years old, smoke 2-8 single ciggarettes a day, and drink 8-16 beers a day, and have crohn's disease, and i am a male Well, it could be Atrial Fib or another arrythmia. Get thee to a cardiologist. Plenty to be worried about! If your heart fibrillates too long without intervention, you can die. What's with the 6-18 beers daily? You have an IBD and are drinking that much? You must know that alcohol can exacerbate Crohn's. You're only 21 years old...are you looking for the quick ticket out of here? I can almost guarantee it is not a. fib. You have symptoms of palpitations, a sudden onset of rapid heart rate usually from excess stimulation in your atria. This stimulation is probably cause by 2 stimuli in particular: your cigarette smoking and catecholamines from your Crohn's. If you stop smoking, cut back on the beer (or you will probably have to stop because you are probably an alcoholic if you drink 6-18 beers a day) and eat a healthy diet specifically for crohn's and I'll be the incidence of these palpitations will dramatically decrease. Well atrial fibrillation is a serious abnormality of the heart. You should really see a cardiologist. Sometimes you will feel a rapid heartrate, it will go very fast over 100 or more. Sometimes, you will not even feel it. It can be very dangerous if left untreated. You need to be on anti-coagulation (blood thinner) therapy to avoid developing a clot. I urge you to see a cardiologist, they will be able to properly diagnose you. Good luck, and quit smoking ! I have A-fib and was diagnosed at 21. See a cardiologist asap. Too much smoking and drinking can be causing it. Don't play with your health. A-fib controls my life in so many ways. Since it's really unpredictable all you have to do is take meds and wait for the next episode. Seriously, you don't want to end up having a stroke or heart attack. Take care of yourself now. You have your whole life ahead of you. |
