Can ventricular escape beats occur in atrial fibrillation?

Can ventricular escape beats occur in atrial fibrillation?

Sure why not? Some afib is actually relatively slow without medication, so a ventricular ectopic beat certainly could happen. With medication it could definately happen as the typical medications - dig, b-blocker, CCB would have no effect on ventricular depolarization.

I have never seen an escape beat with afib over 120 bpm but even then I suppose it could happen.

Good answer above.
