Broken nasal septum?

This has not been my year - atrial fibrillation, hiatus hernia and now TINNITUS.. Last week I had a hearing test and an examination. It was dicovered that I have a broken septum and must have a CT scan. The only time I hurt my nose was at school in hockey and I am now over 60! I have a history of frequent sinusitus, blocked nose, post nasal drip etc. but it is only recently that I have been having headaches on the blocked nostril side together with tinnutus. Could all this be because of the broken septum? I have been worrying about the recent headaches but hopefully it is my nose causing them. Possible?
How will the broken septum be dealt with? I don't have a date yet for my CT scan but I am dreading it because if I lie on my back I feel giddy. The doctor really wants a MIR scan but I have refused because I am claustrophobic in lifts and hate flying - I feel too enclosed in a plane. Am I being silly about all this? Could a blow on the head in August have caused the broken septum?

its definitely a real possibility,a friend of mine was constantly complaining of headaches and constant runny nose/cold symptoms all year round...it wasn't until he saw a specialist that he learned that it was a small skull fracture in his sinuses that was causing it...he had a fall as a child some 20 years earlier that was to blame....hang in there
