Athlete's foot- throw out sneakers?

whenever I wear this one pair of sneakers that I've had for a while I start to get athletes foot. I thought athletes foot was caused by moistness in the feet but my feet dont itch when I wear different shoes for the same amount of time.... so could it actually be the sneakers that is causing it?

Just dust them with Desenex or spray them. It will kill the fungus if it actually is in your shoes. You could also wash them first, then dust them. Then every time before you put them on, dust them again. It will kill the fungus.~

No it is in your house. Probably the shower.

Throw them out.. and get new ones. Put some powder in the shoes and see how you react. if that doesn麓t help then go visit your Dr.

Take care.

Sneakers need to be able to dry out from the sweat they consume and breathe inbetween wearings. In the summer, sneakers never really have a chance to "take a vacation" from the invasion of the foot!

When I come home from the gym, I take off my sneakers and let them dry out, before I pack them back into my gym bag for the next day.

I would probably say that it is time to invest in a new pair, and toss out the old ones!

Buy a special medicated Athlete's Foot powder (over the counter) to put on your feet to cure the condition, so it doesn't worsen, or spread to your other pairs of shoes. When you notice the Athlete's Foot, make sure you soak and bathe your feet often, to avoid it spreading. Always wear clean socks as well.
Good luck!
