Could I be allergic to my Crocs?

Everyone knows the infamous "Croc" shoes, worn by medical staff because they are nonslip and comfy. I just invested in my first pair, because I've always thought they were hideous things. I simple just wear mine around the house as slippers. They work great for when I quickly bring my dog out. But recently, whenever I put them on minutes later the top of my feet break out in little red bumps-- similar to a swollen mosquito bite. The bumps itch like no other, and are extremely uncomfortable. It isn't athlete's foot because I've had that in highschool and know what it feels like. I've put topical itch cream on them, and stopped wearing my Crocs for a few days. I thought these shoes were supposed to be hypo-allergenic. Do your Crocs make your feet itch? Can someone help me with this?

My crocs are brand new, and I keep my shoes clean.

You say you keep them clean. Do you toss them into the washer or dishwasher? Try wearing socks with them?? rather than just sticking your bare feet in them?

I don't wear rubber, plastic, or synthetic substances on my feet! Cotton, wool or mohair socks and leather or canvas shoes! The other stuff sweats too much.

it might be something inside them.
try cleaning them out

i have a pair of crocs also.. & they haven't done that to me.
But I wear socks w/ mine.
Since you stopped wearing em for a few days has it happened again?

Hey hon,
I would suggest taking a rag, and soaking it with some Hydrogen Peroxide, and scrubbing out the insides of your shoes real well. I know, you already washed them out, but sometimes plain water - even with soap - doesn't get out all the germs....especially fungal germs -- the boogers are hard to get rid of! Then, after the hydro-peroxide, you can search around at walmart or the drugstore to find something for cleaning shoes.. you might find somethin'......and as for keeping them clean, if you can, get some good thick socks and wear them always with the shoes. It sounds like a chore but socks aren't that bad... believe me! I used to loathe the little devils, but now they're cozy to me.. Anyway, when you get in from outside, and you feel like slipping into your crocs and socks and just chilling; take your shoes off, and fill your tub with about a inch of water, whatever temp. you like it (i suggest lukewarm), and soak your feet for maybe 5 mins...or, hold them under the faucet of the tub for about 2-3 mins....and then slip into your crocs. I know it sounds like a chore, all this, but it will be worth it not to have that junk all over your feet!
I would also contact the company, and perhaps they've received other complaints like yours? I don't have crocs, but I do know they are supposed to be hypo-allergenic............................

byebye now!
