Is it average...???


Okay is it average for a 14 year old girl athlete to be 5 feet 6 inches and weigh 120 pounds? I want to slim down some but my mom won't let me so is there any way I can sneak in a diet??? Thanks =)

Your weight is fine. You don't need to go on a diet at all, but if you want to, just start eating healthy and exercising.

yes its average and can get on a diet,just when you want to eat junk food dont.

your the perfect weight im 16 5 foot 2 and 130 pounds and my best friend is athletic 5 foot 4 and 140 and its all muscle. you deffinatly dont need a diet it could actualy be verrry unhealthy for you

Yes thats normal, plus your only 14. Im 5'0 and weight 98 pounds I wanna gain weight and you wanna lose it!! Trust me listen to your mom and weight until your 17 or so

That is totally normal, dont feel bad about your weight at all, alot of 6th grade girls weigh that or more! But excersice lots and eat healthy, a great way to replace junk food is a cheez stick or a banana, or any fruit...so that way its still sweet with less fat and sugar good luck鈾?/div>

You are absolutely fine... if you lose weight it can be bad for your development b/c u are still too young to diet. Your mom is saying this for your own health.

eat as you are doing and take "your dog" (or what ever pet) out for a walk more then often :)

Yea thats totally fine. I am 14 and would love to be 120 , im not overweight but u get the pic. I wouldn't go on a diet. I'm guessing that your body is built thinner and doesn't need to be more. Good Luck!!

sense your growing you shouldn't diet you need to listen to your stomach its hungry for a reason 1 way to diet is to not eat when your not hungry even if it taste good! my moto is listen to your stomach!

ok you're 14 so still growing (any actual fat you have will probably get used in growth start having an interest when you're 20 or something)...
you're a self professed athlete... now that means training, that means any excess weight you have is muscle (muscle is heavier than fat)...
chances are if you aren't as slim as the average 14yo then it's the average 14yo's energy stores (for growth and survival if you're ever in an environment with no food but still need energy to hunt [lets hope you never are]) on top of above average muscle development...
seriously, you're 14, weighing 120pounds... weight is not an issue atm... there are pretty of cute girls out there who at 18 are well muscled with some curves... >_> personly I think those chicks rule...
so beauty is really in the eye of the beholder, so quit worrying about your weight and enjoy the life ^_^ while it's shiny lol
