What Treatment For Toenail Fungus? |
I've been walking anywhere from 7 - 10 miles 7 days a week for three months now. My toes had started to hurt. Never being an athlete, I had no idea about painful feet. Til now. Now I look closer and two toenails are discolored and the skin under one is red and swollen. So now I know I've got a serious problem, and it's Saturday, Dr's are off, and I would like to cure this myself. I am sorry to tell you, but the only thing that really cures toenail fungus is medication prescribed by the doctor. It may not be a fungus. It may be an infection from all the pounding or athletes foot. Toe nail fungus is not painful just looks bad. Keep your feet dry by putting baby powder with cornstarch in your socks, changing your socks more ofter. You may also have a toenail infected from all the walking. This is very common. As crazy as it sounds, get some Vicks Vapor rub and apply it to your feet and / or toenails. It's a home remedy thats been around for years, but it does work. You'll notice a difference overnight. This will get you through the weekend until you can get to a doctor for an antibiotic pill / cream. |
