Help!!! women?

i'm 11 i'm 4 foot 8 or 4 foot 9 and i'm like around 77 pounds and i heard that if you athletic you get your period late but i have alot of signs for a period such as achs, discharge and alot of pubic hair so will i get my period soon and what can i do so i don't get it late such as the other athletes!

Make sure you eat healthy, don't diet as this can cause your weight to be low and thus cause your period to not come. Being healthy is the key to staying healthy. Good luck, and don't rush growing up, enjoy this time while you can.

Don't rush it. Let nature take it's course.

you just wait for it, its ussually comes earlier or later. your body type has nothing to do with it comming soon or late.
with the signs you just mentioned, i know it will be there pretty soon

my advice is that its better to start your periods later, even though you really can't control when you do get it, most girls get their periods about the same age as their mothers did. i've heard that if you are young and weigh over 45kilos you'll get it sooner rather than later.

Id love to not have them at all. They will come when they are ready, and then you will join the ranks of many women who wish they never happened. All the symptoms you are having may just be a change in your hormones.

Good luck:)

theres nothing u can do to not make ur perid lat most girls atart at the age of 12-18 but achs and discharge 5s a33 ab64t be5ng a preteen! ur fine

I think that when it's time for you to get your period, it's your time. It really just depends on your body. All sorts of things can afffect your period. There, however isn't much you can do about it.

trust me dont be in a hurry to get it sometimes the cramps can be so bad you wont even beable to get outta bed dont rush it just enjoy not having just concentrate on being a kid

At your age, being athletic has nothing to do with getting your period late. As long as you are healthy, your period will come when your body is ready for it. By the signs you should be getting it soon. Athletes don't get their period any sooner or later, and the only thing I notice when I work out is that my cramps are lessened, but it has no effect on when or how long it lasts. You may have gotten the idea of athletes getting late periods from an overexaggeration. Women who experience an extreme loss of body fat may sometimes experience a skipped or delayed period because of the body taking natural precautions. If your body isn't able to maintain weight because of extreme diet and exercise, it wouldn't make sense to try to nourish another living thing as well. If you have been athletic all along and have not begun any EXTREME workout programs, your body should function just like that of every other woman out there.

if you are looking forward to it AT ALL don't! i did for a long time, but after i got it i was like, oh not fun! ur 11? i got mine about 4 months before my 13th birthday. i hate it. you will to. you r always like omg, am i leaking? and if u spend a long time in the bathroom and ur with ur friends some were... they just look at u, and ur like, shut up... and u r just so worried that u r going to do something to humiliate urself... u just wait...

only the ones that are strictly diet controlled has the late periods.
I got my first period when i was 10 ( one day only). Second time when i was 12 ( irregular). Finally got it regulated after I was 17ish. Make sure you eat well. =)

It is typical for girls to begin menarche around your age. There aren't really ways to delay it drastically. Being athletic only seems to work if you are into a rigorous routine of 4-5 days a week, and that can only delay it for so long. And as long as you aren't overweight (which obviously you are not), you won't get it early. Some studies suggest that while girls who reach puberty early are the more popular ones with boys, and only more popular among other early beginners, it is actually the late starters who are more successful in life. All in all, be happy with your body and let nature take its course. There will be many changes over the next 7-10 years, but keep educated on them and you should be fine.

77lbs sounds too light for your height. Some ballet dancers and gymnasts miss their periods cos their body fat falls below 15%. You might want to put on some weight.

honey dont rush it, you will have it for almost 40 years every month. It will get to you when it gets to you, when you least expect it so dont worry.

On the average, a girl gets her first period about 1 year after hair begins to grow under her arms.
It could be later, in girls who have very little body fat.
Yes, it's true that athletes sometimes don't menstruate regularly.
However, this is more common in professional athletes, who are doing strenuous exercise for many hours a day, like it's their life -- not just someone who's in after school sports or something.

You are having signs that you could be ready to start. Carry a pad with you in your school bag, just in case!!!
But don't worry -- some girls don't start until they are 13, and this is normal, too.

it partly depends on how old your family members were when they got theirs. usualy people get it at about 105 pounds. I started getting signs of it 3 years before I actualy got one, though but everyone is different

I'm sorry.I can't help you with that.

you really shouldn't worry when you have your period its your time you cant control it let nature flow naturally. you really cant tell how soon u will get your period when you grow pubic hair. sometimes you cant even tell like my friend started at math class in 5th grade she couldn't even tell. but for some advice if u feel like you are going to start your period dont wear white pants and midol helps.
