I saw my ICD 9 diagnosis codes but my doctor doesn't know i did & i'm really worried? |
i'm 29-bad chest pains, short breath, sudden high BP/pulse-went to my cardiologist last monday & he seemed concerned after my EKG-said there's a difference in it compared to past ones & he wanted me to do a nuclear stress test & echo in his office&blood wk at the lab by the end of the week..i did the stress test tues, blood&echo fri..when i gave the lab my referral form for the blood they said they needed to call my doc to get my ICD 9 codes cause they were left off & when she got it, i was sneaky & wrote it down-looked it up at home.414.01- Coronary Atherosclerosis Native Artery & says it's a form of Chronic Ischemic Heart Disease..he only had the stress test results when that # was given cause i did my echo right after the blood. To Willis C- Stay confident. A lot of times the codes indicate what the doctor is suggesting you be tested for in the mean time this could actually be an advantage for you because instead of researching the negative maybe it's time look up some of the things you can do to correct this problem? You'd be suprised at what a little bit of faith, diet, and exercise can do! Whatever you do stay positive and confident. If it was so extremely serious I doubt the doctor would send you home without first letting you know! Hello, Well this is up my ally. IM also a heart patient. I was born with aordic stunoisis. Had sugery at are 4. and i have dont my share of ekg, echo, stress test, angeo gram,u name it its been down. Dr. ten to scar us with there talk. Just relax!!!! and dont think the worse. Believe me they have had me on the table for open heart surgery more times then i can count and it ends up being nothin much when the heart speculist looks at it. The Dr. is just covering all his bases. Just keep your head up,think possitive!!!!! Keep in mind, that in order to get reimbursed by the insurance company, a doctor must provide a diagnosis. As diagnostic studies prove/disprove his immediate impression, that diagnosis may change. If you are experiencing heart issues, sure, be prepared for bad news but also hope for good news. There are treatments available, Id say start saving up for a casket. It has to be serious for them to even order those tests! It would help if you knew the name of the lab doing the test. maybee its Quest. They're the monopoly in the diagnostics field. They have over 10,000 ICD9 codes & tests that give results. I dont have the book here at home so i cant look it up. |
