Policosanol - useless or not? Whom should we believe?


Policosanol is a natural medicine derived from sugar cane, produced in Cuba, which is broadly advertised in many countries as a highly efficient against atherosclerosis. Numerous studies from Cuba support the effectiveness of policosanol, which has been confirmed also by a large trial in Moscow. However, independent verification from the Netherlands and Germany have demonstrated that sugar-cane derived policosanol is useless.

It is suspose to be an anti oxidant that is stronger than vitamin E????

The only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. If you feel better then it works for you. If not try something else. There is no magic bullet for any condition.

Would you mind me asking why you are taking it? Maybe there is a better solution for you?
