How long does ataxia last after you quit drinking?

alcohol destroys brain cells at an alarming rate, brain cells do not regenerate. It is possible the ataxia will never go away, unless some other part of the brain takes over the tasks of the parts that were destroyed to cause the ataxia in the first place.

This will all depend on how much you have to drink and how high your blood alcohol content is. The general rule is one hour for every drink.
