Any info on ATAXIA?

I am lookink for exercises that can help my balance

Ataxia (from Greek ataxi膩, meaning failure to put in order) is unsteady and clumsy motion of the limbs or trunk due to a failure of the gross coordination of muscle movements. Patients with ataxia are diagnosed and treated by neurologists.

Nothing relates to exercises, sorry.

I lost my hearing and balance after having surgery....you may want to give this a try

1. Sit in an arm chair. Hold your upper body and head still and move only your eyes. Look up, then down, and repeat this 10 times. Look left, then right, and repeat this 10 times.

2. Now you may move your head. Look up, then down, and repeat this 10 times. Rotate your head to the left, then right, and repeat this 10 times.

3. Remain seated, and bend forward from the waist and then back. Repeat this 10 times. Bend to the left from the waist and then to the right. Repeat this 10 times.

I found the most difficult times were on stairs, you know where they use those traction strips, those caused severe dizziness and visual problems, I lose the ability to differentiate the steps...they all become a series of stripes, I have learned to close my eyes and move slowly or keep my head level so I can't see them.

I frequently lose my balance, but after 4 years, the episodes are fewer and farther between, your body does learn to compensate.

My doctor thought that I was fine at 95% compensation, whatever that meant. By that point I was sick and tired of doctors and treatments that I said fine. This year, I want to try skiing again, that is my ultimate test.

Good Luck
