You ask a very difficult question...

The severity of Friedrich's Ataxia is variable, as is the rate of progression. Technically speaking, it depends upon the number of "GAA" genetic repeats you have.

Most people have a MUCH earlier onset (diagnosed way earlier in life) and do not live past the age of 40.

As it is, it sounds as if you have a less serious case...with your very late diagnosis and still being alive at age 47.

The average time of of survival from time of symptom onset is around 35 years, but again...this is very variable.

...nobody can give you extremely accurate estimates, though your physician should help you with rough estimates.
