I am trying to find out how to get help to pay for test needed for Fredrick Ataxia and Cardiomypathy?

You can contact the National Institutes of Health (www.nih.gov) and lookup "Friedreich ataxia". They probably have a clinical trial and can give you information on how to get a free test. If you do not have insurance, and do not qualify for medicaid, you can go to a public hospital and talk to a social worker. If you have private insurance, ask the doc to speak to your insurer for authorization to do the genetic test for Friedreich Ataxia. If all else fails, try to find a healthcare advocacy group in your city or state. Also, look for support groups on the internet.

Good luck!...p
