a 26 year old woman is hospitalized because of several neurologic problems. when she was 21 she had a transient episoide of blindness, she could not see objects in the center of the visual fild of her left eye. at 23 she developed a motor problem in her hands but she recovered in a few weeks. her present illness is characterized by ataxia of gait, a tendency to fall and nystagmus. examination revealed that her left optic nerve was much paler than her right optic nerve. she had an intention tremor in her arms when she was asked to touch her nose and she had difficulty in makking alternating pronation and supination movements of her arms. give her a cat scan i believe you will find a tumor in her brain on the right side or directly behind the left eye |
