I have an astigmatism and the doctor said i dont need contacts for astigmatism....?

I used to have acuvue advances for astigmatism (which are toric right, because the doctor said i used to have toric) He said i dont need lenses for astigmatism anymore, so today i used regular ones.
But my vison was really blurry.
Like it would be fine but them it would go blurry.
Is this the astigmatism or not?
Im not sure if i should go back or not....

It could be that the amount of asitmatism you have is very mild, and borders on the need for correction. If you aren't seeing clearly with the regular contacts, then I would have to suggest that you get back in to see the doctor and tell him that you're not seeing as clearly with the new ones. Some people with mild amounts of astigmatism can take or leave the correction for it. If you had torics before, it could be that your eyes are already used to having the correction for it, and now that its not there, they miss it. Did they schedule you for a follow-up appointment? It could be that you will adjust to not having it, but it sounds like you prefer it. If they didn't schedule you to come back in a week, I would call and get back in ASAP, and also if you ordered a supply of these new lenses, perhaps you'd want them to cancel the order until you see the doctor again.

Good luck!

**Pardon me, John E.? And who the heck are you? Are you an Optometrist? An Ophthalmologist? God? I've got over 11 years experience and I think I DO know what I'm talking about. And if you're so darn smart, then what would YOU tell this person to do about her problem, Smarta$$?

go back,

you need to talk to your doctor about the problem you are having. When you are younger, sometimes mild amounts of astigmatism come and go, but apparently you still need that correction.

Yeah lenses are the best for astigmatism, contacts don't fix my vision at all. Astigmatism means that the light comes in differently or your eyes are not the same shape. I have it too, if your Dr. says you have it its probably true.

People who do not know what they are talking about should refrain from answering questions they know nothing about whether they are certified or not.

Yes, must use back those toric lenses.
