Can astigmatism fluctuate? |
I am 18 and have always had perfect eyesight and a couple of months ago I had astigmatism and short sight -0.25 in each eye. Seeing as I had astigmatism -0.25 in one of my eyes a couple years back and then it dissapeared and has now re-appeared does this mean that hopefully my -0.25 prescription can return to perfect eyesight again or will it be downhill from here? First of all anything is possible! But, if I were you I would go to my eye doctor and ask him/her. -0-25 is a normal thing, its within normal variation ,u have perfect eyesight and u dont have astigmatism, who ever prescribed u these glasses was incorrect,i am an opthalmologist and never in my life saw much of difference in someone who weared that quarter its like normal eye vision and sometimes even straining, astigmatism is way higher diopters.at least a half or above so the patient can complain and and can be corrected I would say yes to this. It can fluctuate in the use of certain medications, age is a factor. Certain diseases cause problems and I would think stress can create problems. I've asked my eye doctors about all this because mine fluctuates using the medications I do but, there's no help for this either. Heart medications are a big factor. I have a little Astgmatism you should ask your doctor about it You are only 18 years old. Your body is still growing and changing. I wouldnt worry about the vision thing, just eat well and get your vision checked every year. |
