Prescription change to remove astigmatism? |
I had an eye exam a year and a half ago, my contacts were He said that my astigmatism still is the same -.25, however because I found the right eye weak in the old glasses, he just upped it to solid -4.25, instead of -4.25 -.25 x005. Since your astigmatism was literally so low before it is likely in the new eye exam it was under 0.25 and they only make lenses in 0.25 power increments so astigmatism under that will not be corrected. 0.25 is the lowest power increment that is made in optical lenses. So yes it is possible in your eye exam it read your astigmatism is lower then a quarter diopter (0.25) and anything under that there is really no way to correct it. I think with glasses you do need a correction for astigmatism even if its just -1/4, with contact lenses it's different. |
