Can astigmatism cause a unilateral headache?

What type of headache would astigmatism cause? I recently found out that I have an astigmatism in my right eye, I frequently get headaches on my right side. I have seen a neurologist and had an MRI and all was fine. I just that it was a weird coincidence that I get headaches on the same side as my astigmatism.

Uncorrected astigmatism can cause various symptoms, though the most common one is simply blur. There is no specific type of headache, and in fact, my experience is that there is rarely a headache associated unless the person is squinting frequently in an attempt to see more clearly. The probability of a headache increases with the amount of uncorrected astigmatism as well as how sudden the onset occurred. You can find out if astigmatism is the cause by having it optically corrected with eyeglasses or a contact lens. Other possible headache causes include sinus congestion, vascular changes, stress, and hypertension.

If either of your eyes has to strain to remain focussed, a headache would occur.
Make sure you have, and wear, proper corrective lenses
