I have astigmatism and i bought regular contacts .... ?

i have astigmatism and i bought regulat contacts...when i wear them my head starts to hurt....is it becuase of the contacts or is it just stress???

Also... will my vision decrease if i wear regular contacts?

If you have lots of astigmatism, it's recommended that you get toric contacts lenses (it's just a type of contacts lens that corrects for astigmatism). If your astigmatism is 1.00 or less, getting toric contacts are optional since those contacts do cost more than regular contacts. Ask you optometrist how high your astigmatism is.

Sometimes, it's not the uncorrected astigmatism that causes the headache. Maybe the prescription is too strong for you, or you just simply cannot tolerate wearing your full prescription. If that's the case, just go back to your optometrist and ask he/she to lower your contact lens prescription a little. The head should go away.

You may be getting the headaches because your astigmatism is not corrected, but this will not make your vision get worse.

Some people have a very small amount of astigmatism and can do just fine with contacts that do not correct it. Give it a little time, and if the headaches persist, you should see your doctor to discuss getting contacts to correct your astigmatism.

Probably your contact lenses aren't doing the job. You need toric lenses to correct the astigmatisms.
