Which way do the marks on astigmatism contacts go?

i have astigmatism and am wearing acuvue advance for astigmatism lenses. what i want to know is which way does the marking on the lenses go. 12 and 6, (north to south) like on a clock, or 3 to 9 (east to west)? thanks in advance.

I think that they answered your question pretty well, but just some terminology FYI. A TORIC lens is used to correct ASTIGMATISM. A TORIC lens has CYLINDER to correct for ASTIGMATISM. ASTIGMATISM is when your eye has a non uniform shape and needs a CYLINDRICAL power on a TORIC lens to correct your vision. ASTIGMATISM is the condition of the eye. CYLINDER is the type of power on a lens.A TORIC lens is the type of lens that has CYLINDER to correct for ASTIGMATISM. get it? I hope so! It is a bit confusing, but it works if you get it!

I know with mine that they rotate and must have more weight at the side that goes at the bottom so you do not have to worry about it. But if you lie down or stand on your head they will rotate wrong and not work.

you could ask your doctor. most are weighted so that they rotate to the proper place.

it goes 12 and 6. :)
