I have a astigmatism, what exactly is it? and should i be wearing my glasses all the time?

i am 16 and my astigmatism was diagnosed at the start of the year

An astigmatism is an irregular curvature of your cornea. It's pretty common. You should wear your glasses whenever you need them to see.

astigmatism means that some portion of your visual system is not spherical...or that the culmination of the additive properties of your visual surfaces does not yield a spherical image.

but the other poster is right...its *usually* a corneal shape problem.

as to whether you need them full time or not...depends on the severity of the astigmatism
