Can i wear contact lenses for myopic-astigmatism?

........... i have myopic-astigmatism... and i've been wearing glasses for 4 years now........ since i dont like wearing glasses, i only wear them while reading, watching tv, computer etc....... all other times, i go without glasses......... i wanna know if that's ok for my eyes...... also please tell me, if i can switch on to contact lenses, coz i heard that myopic-astigmatism is hard to cure through contact lenses........

Yes you can wear contact lenses I have a mild astigmatism and a couple of years back the optometrist put me in toric lenses but when I went to a different optometrist couple of months back he put me back in my regular contacts because he said that my astigmatism is mild.....so the answer is .....if your astigmatism is mild you can wear regular contacts but if not then they will put you in toric lenses....they cost a lil more than regular lenses, and they are a little thicker, but go to your optometrist and he or she should be able to put you in some ........and wear your glasses you shouldnt be placing unecessary strain on your eyes

YES!

Almost impossible to get a good correction with contact lenses.
Try some frames that do not have anything but lenses, ear and nose pieces ... they are not real visible, lightweight, and hardly noticible as the wearer or the observer.

you should be able to. I found that contacts actually worked better w/ the astigmatism.

Well no its not ok to go with out your glasses if u have atigmatism. They do have contacts lenes for astigmatism. I have astignatism and i wear glasses I hate glasses they make me feel wierd.(smile) And I have appointment next week for contacts.
