If you have a strong astigmatism, is it ok to get LASIK? Will it increase the risks?

I don't exactly remember what number astigmatism, I remember hearing a 5 somewhere.. Please help

yes, very much

Yes you can, it is more expensive than normal LASIK but it is possible.

Frankly you should be asking your eye doctor this instead of a bunch of random people on the internet though.

i dont know

I have moderate astigmatism, I got LASIK in 1999 and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself

incidentally I got mine done at TLC right after Tiger Woods

I'm still not as good at golf as he is though

It can be done but there are requirements one of them is that your eyes have to have been at the same level of astigmatism for three consecutive years meaning they have not gotten worse. Look over this website for making your decision I have so many friends that have had it and they do not regret getting it and some had pretty bad astigmatism I myself have astigmatism and have had it for 13 years since I was 9years old and I am a candidate and in the process of getting it set up.

I had lasik and had an astigmatism, and had a botched surgery. My eyes are worse now than they were before I went in. It can be done, and is reasonably safe, just get multiple opinions.
