Is it possible to wear a color contact over one that is not?

Is it possible to wear a color contact, (with no perscription) over one that is? I have astigmatism and cannot find any that are affordable!!! V_V;

If you actually mean putting a second lens on top of the first one in your eye...then no, of course not.

The double thickness won't be very comfortable to begin with, plus it will just make your vision blurry. The top lens ( colored one) will not be able to lay flat on your cornea and will probably have wrinkles...plus, they will stick together and you will probably tear both when you try to separate them.

All in all...NOT a good idea.

As long as you take care of your eyes and contacts, you should be able to wear them for a long time. I knew a man who wore contacts until he was 80 yrs old and had to have cataract surgery. There are other alternatives to contacts too. Technology is advancing so fast that many people can have lazik (laser) surgery to correct their vision.

Unfortunatley, everyone cannot wear contacts. I will have to disagree with the doctor. I have astigmatism, farsightness and nearsightness and cannot wear them. They even tried putting a different prescription in each eye and I could not see at all. My eyes burned and I could not wear them, let alone correct my vision. I have been tested and cannot have the lazer surgery to correct my sight because of the type of eye problems I have.

I know someone will let me know they have corrective lens and lazer for astigmatism and my other problems but I know of a lot of people who cannot wear contacts or have the surgery. Many in my own family and friends too. Several of us have been everywhere trying to find a good doctor or clinic that could help us but so far no luck.

However, in your case, since apparently the prescriptions will not continue to change so often, you should be able to wear them indefinately. I must agree too that they make so many wonerful frames that some glasses look really cool. If you had to wear them, you could always have them tinted. You are so blessed that you can see. Good luck...lol...:)
