Why do I get headaches when I wear contact lenses?

I don't suffer from astigmatism or anything, but whenver I wear contact lenses even for an hour I get really bad headaches. What could this mean?

I was having similar problems. Then I went two weeks ago and had Lasik surgery. What I found out what...

The new contact lenses are highly concentrated with fluid. Your tears are being produced, but the contacts are drying out and sucking up all the fluid that your tears are pouring out. So, your eyes are working over time trying to keep up and keep your eyes lubricated at the same time. Now your eyes are overworked, your tear ducts are over worked and your contacts are still drying out. Which just keeps getting worse.

Thus, your head starts to hurt because your eyes are working so hard.

Take your contacts out every night,, never never sleep in them even though they claim you can.... alternate between your glasses every couple of days.. and always always always have rewetting drops with you. Use them no less than every 4 hours while wearing your contacts.

your prescription might be too strong for you...i know when i wear a new prescription, everything seems a little too clear. also make sure you keep them really clean and wash your hands before handling them. you should probably see your eye doctor though

That your eyes don't bear them, go for glasses better

Check your vision.Maybe they are not compatible with your vision.

wrong prescription

maybe ur eyes just arnt focusing right with ur contacts. they may just not be used to them. its also possible that thier is something wrong with ur perscription or the size of your contact lenses. some people simply just cant handle wearing them tho. i suggest talking to your eye doctor tho, they will be happy to fix ur problem.
