My contact lense RX was changed after the brand didnt carry it. My base curve was 8.6 now he says 8.7. ?? |
When I went to fill my first prescription they told me that brand (Bio Med Toric) only came in base curve 8.7 not 8.6. I called to get a new brand (which there are 2 available for the EXACT rx my eye doctor first gave me) Instead of changing the brand he just changed my prescription! Is this right? I'm out of state and he didnt perform another eye exam before changing my RX. I've heard you can get corneal abcesses from wearing contacts that dont fit properly especailly torics for astigmatism which mine are. Please help!! A change from 8.6 to 8.7 is a very small change and is unlikely to be harmful. If your eye doctor fit you in the BioMedics Toric and it only comes in 8.7, he likely just wrote down the wrong base curve on the original Rx. |
