Why do I have redness and bloodshot eyes with contact lenses? |
I've been wearing Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism lenses for three days (two days full time) and have been using Opti-Free Replenish Solution. My eyes are bloodshot and red, especially around the contacts and they also feel uncomfortable after a few hours. A couple of my firends said that my eyes are too dry and told me to get drops so I just bought Opti-Free Rewetting Drops. I have not used the drops yet. Will I need call my eye doctor or is this something the drops should take care of? Yes, these are my very first pair. You can try the drops, but if it doesn't clear up in 24 hours, call your eye doctor. Are these your very first contact lenses? Or just your first time with this particular brand? I wear acuvue 2 contacts and if my eyes get dry, then they get red and bloodshot from the contacts. I also use the same solution and the rewetting drops are great. They really help relieve the redness. Try putting a couple of drops in each eye right now if your contacts are in. I usually put some in my eyes right after I put my contacts in every morning and then keep them with me during class so I can "rewet" my contacts if my eyes get dry during the day. this might happen beause u wear the lense for 2 full days. The eyes are lack of oxygen hence there are dryness building up. Do stop wearing lenses for fews days till the redness is gone or do get advice from the doc. contacts must never be wear for whole days as it blocks the oxygen flow. |
