Is it normal to be both nearsighted and farsighted?

I am farsighted in one eye, and nearsighted in the other, so I have a weird prescription. I also have astigmatism. My right eye isn't very bad, but my left is. Is it normal to have this type of sight?

Depends what you mean by "normal". It isn't a disease or due to an accident and it is how Mother Nature made you so I would call it normal.

It isn't common, but it isn't very rare either. A lot of people with amblyopia have one eye more farsighted than the other and some of them would be nearsighted in one and farsighted in the other. Many people have astigmatism, about 20% have a significant amount.

I can't say it is

Its not COMMON but its comepletly normal. theres nothing wrong with you just you have a different presription no biggie

My eye doctor himself was both nearsighted and farsighted. You are what you are... not everyone is the same so who's to say what's normal. As long as you can get it corrected, don't worry about it.

its not usual but there is nothing wrong with it. My left eye is weaker than my right so i get dizzy without my glasses.

No it is possible, you jest have to get your eyes examined for a good pair of glasses. and you'll be fine.

I have exactly the same problem & so does my husband. His is worse than mine. Of course we both wear glasses. I am so glad that glasses can be made to help us see. Just think what it would be like not to be able to read, drive, etc. & where everything that looks slanted is really straight & vise-versa. I can't wear contacts as I also have chronic blepharitis ( inflamation of eyelids) so I am very thankfull for my glasses.

Think it is how your eyes are shaped, all of our eyes lens are shaped different.
My left eye is my bad eye, my right eye is not so bad, one of them is sphere shaped (on my glasses Rx form). I have been wearing glasses since I was about eight years old. So again all of us have different eye sights, and eye shapes.
