What Toric Contact Lenses Do You Prefer? |
I recently signed up for vision insurance and can now get contacts instead of glasses and I'm going to have to get toric lenses for my astigmatism. I was wondering, from all you other toric lense users, what brand do you find to be the most comfortable? I will take comfort over length of use any day. I realize my optomistrist will advise me on this but I feel like the best info comes from those who know first hand! i like acuvue toric because it feels better. but it doesn't keep its shape so its hard for me to handle it(I'm 13-14). but the ones i have now, i don't know what kind they are. they keep their shape, but they sometimes feel uncomfortable. tomorrow im going to the eye doctor, ill ask what brand they are, and I'll update my answer(I'm curious) i like them because it is so easy to just put in/take out. it doesn't get inside out(i could never tell the difference anyways). I use Bausch and Lomb Soflens. I think the manufacturer says they are a 2 week contact lens, but my eye dr said I could wear them for up to a month as long as they were comfortable for me (which they are). My husband likes the B&L Soflens Toric. He didn't like Acuvue. I don't wear them, so I can't give my own experience. I use Frequency 55 Toric. They are monthly soft lenses and are to be taken out at night. I can get about 14 straight hours of wear before I start to feel my eyes getting dry. I have always had problems with the lens not sitting right on my right eye, but it's probably because I've never been given the correct cylinder or axis. I have never used any other brand, so I have nothing to compare them to. It sounds like there are brands out there that others really like, so I would suggest you try them before Frequency. |
