Contact lense problem...?

Ok Ive been having to wear glasses for years now but Im pretty darn ugly so would like to ditch them for contacts. Ive tried loads of different contact lenses for sports use from all the leading opticians (Specsavers, Vision Express etc), which are fine, but when I want to read, focus on something close or am in low light conditions they are terrible and go really blurry (so wearing them for college would be impossible). Why is this? Ive been told I have an astigmatism so could this have anything to do with it?

Yes, Your astigmatism is definitely the culprit.
But they make special lenses called Toric lenses for people with astigmatism they are a lot more expensive but well worth it.
Also, Do not call yourself Ugly, No one is ugly!

Get toric lenses - they dont work for everyone, but your optition should be able to give you a free trial pack before you fork out for them. I find i have better vision with them than my glasses

it isnt because of youre astigmatism...astigmatism means youre eyes are slightly rugby ball shaped instead of totally round.this isnt really a problem and when it comes to contact lenses opticians easily deal with it by giving you contacts specifically designed for it(the have an almost invisble little line at the bottom of the lense to keep them in the correct place...you may have the problem where you need bi-focal glasses(not sure what this is called exactly).ive seen people with glasses for this problem that have a part at the bottom of the glasses lense especially for reading up close and the rest for seeing things far away...opticians usually give you a trial period with contacts so just ask them about the problem when you return for your appointment.theyll be able to work out the problem and its more than likely theyll have a solution for you...

Your vision must be perfect with contacts, and if you have astigmatism you need a contact lense called " toric" ,if you have those lenses your should see much better than with the glasses, because your vision become much clear and wider, you'll see.
Check up the prescription. You should see perfect i your contacts are well done.
Good luck!!

What kind of lenses are you wearing? I have an astigmatism, and recently had soft lenses, and found that my eyesight was blurry in low light, and focusing was difficult.. When I had gas permeable lenses, I didn't suffer from this at all.

i just went to the eye doctor 2 weeks ago with the same problem. he told me that my reading vision was bad in addition to my nearsightedness so he tested me and fitted me for one eye corrected for near and one eye fitted for far vision and got a free trial pair i love them!!!now i see great
