Big Screen LCD for Computer Work?

I'm 28 years old, I'm currently having myopia, -2.50D, and astigmatism -0.50D. Last year I've had only -1.50D. And I work a lot with computers.

I'm currently using a 24" LCD screen (1280x800 resolution, larger fonts) from a viewing distance of about 80 cm (31 inches). I'm thinking of switching to a big TV LCD screen of 37" or 40" (while keeping a similar resolution like 1280x800, larger fonts) which I intent to use from as far as I can (2 or more metres).

1. What do you think? Is this solution better for trying to stop progress of myopia, as the screen will be at a larger distance?

2. What would be the ideal distance from a 37", 40" inch screen for computer work?

Thank you

Nope! have your boss get you an antiglare screem to go over your monitor. By law if you have a doctors note they have to provide you with one and make sure that you ALWAYS wear your glasses while working on your computer. If you don't have them then ask your eye doctor to prescribe you a pair specifically for computer work.

Getting computer glasses with a weaker prescription seems like an easier, and cheaper, solution. Try wearing your old glasses, since 1 diopter weaker is just about perfect for computer glasses.
