Does anti-glare coating for glasses help?

Just recently I went in for an eye exam because my eyes can鈥檛 see very well at night! All the stoplights turn blurry/hazy the oncoming headlights glare in my eyes. I try to look at the other side of the road to avoid the bright lights, but this is annoying!

So, I got the exam and it seems I have astigmatism and I鈥檓 farsighted. Fine, the real reason I went in was for the glare and fuzziness at night. So they gave me an RX with an anti-glare coating. I tried the glasses on and it looked like the lights I saw went from a 4 pointed star to an 8 pointed star WITH the glasses. Still fuzzy and blurry lights! So they took the 鈥減olish鈥?off. Still, the glasses make my vision worse! So now they are going to remove the anti-glare. I have no clue how!

What are your opinions? Anyone else out there not getting results with this 鈥渁nti-glare鈥?coating? They made me feel like I was from Mars! But, they are my eyes and I know what works. I welcome your opinions. Thanks.

farsigthed glass is for close up reading... that why you don't wear them for far work because it magnifys everything

I originally went to the DR for my BAD night vision. I never have worn glasses prior to this. Rrr. What to do! I've got glasses now and they don't even help with the original problem. It's like I'm looking through a blurry lens only at night! Report It

Sorry I can't see this question very well, I have this stuff on my glasses.

I have never had any problems with anti-reflective coating. I also have astigmatism (-1.5 diopters) as well. If the axis on your prescription is not quite right then it can produce a blurred image. Try looking through your lenses and rotating your glasses in a clockwise or counterclockwise manner and see if your vision improves if you do that.

If it does, then the prescription may not be correct and you need to have the doctor verify it.

I hope this helps

Anti-glare coating works great but...do you have the same frame? Is your frame larger, smaller and do you have the correct field of vision in your lenses?

Sometimes new Rx's in new frames (or even old ones) cause problems.

My daughter had this problem: the new frame had lenses that were curved more-and they added polycarbonate lenses and her old plastic ones worked much better. Problem solved. See your eye doc!
