Gas Perm Contact Lens Issues?

I have tried contacts in the past and have had some success but thought I would give RGP contacts a try due to better visual acuity and fewer problems with dry eyes and astigmatism. So, now I am a proud owner of RGP contacts and LOVE the clear crisp vision I never got with regular soft contacts. But...my eyes stay so dry even after several eye drop doses during the day. This problem gets worse as the day wears on. I have even had the right one "pop" out. What is wrong? Will this problem get better as I get used to the lenses more? Do I need to have the lenses adjusted or should I retire my dream of having better vision without eye glasses. I am not interested in Lasik eye surgery either. Please help!

Possibly the lens material should be changed to help with dryness. The fit should also be assessed, because the lens may be causing additional dryness if not fitting correctly.

There are initial adaptation issues, but they are usually based around discomfort from feeling the lenses as opposed to them drying out.
