An online shoe shop for amputees and people with one footsize different to the other-Good idea or bad idea?

There are over 60,000amputees in the U.K alone struglling with the problem of wasting money, embarrasment in shops, low self estheme, and wardobe full of odd shoes.
I have a website ready to go,suppliers for stock and packaging, extensive research, advertisment to go in a mag with over 5,000 subscribers, applied for a new business grant. But what do people think???

I think it's a WONDERFUL idea!! Good for you! Very thoughtful, too. I have a friend who's uncle is an amputee and he always complains about having to buy the pair when he only needs one. What is he supposed to do with that other shoe?!

Jolly good idea...

a woman i know had polio as a kid, resulting in feet being 2 different shoe sizes; she told me there is an organization that pairs people w/ others who have same shoe size(s) but who only need 1 shoe in that size
she states that it is extremely helpful, but only if she can find someone who also purchased the shoe in a size & color she needs, the side (l or r) she needs, etc.
if i were her, and could order a shoe in 2 different sizes, i'd be your best customer
i am hard to fit, although both of my feet are more or less the same size--i have to order ALL my shoes on-line, and still don't get much choice, and i have to take the closest thing i can get to the size i need

It is a very good idea. There must be hundreds of thousands of people with non-matching feet. The only difficulty I forsee is one of organisation. It would need to be something like a stock exchange so that items of different value could find their market price.
It should be possible for an organisation of the sort you envisage, to achieve charitable status, at least in the beginning.
Good luck to you, I hope you succeed.

Sounds like you've done your homework. Go for it!
