I have been a below the knee amputee for 6 years and suffer from stump pain? |
lower back pain, and now my right knee has defected cartilage. I was wondering if there are any other amputees who suffer from the same pain and what you do about it? Hiya- I am now a High AK, I started a BK 13+ years ago. Yes, I get stump pain!!!! I most recently put a derodrm pad on it and it helped a ton.... also massaging it helps me too.. hope all goes well... Peace out.. Hi I am Nikki, I am an Double amputee 4 yr(L-bk R-ak). I have found that my bk side has more phantom pains, maybe because this amputation is through the bone. My ak side almost never has pains so since this amputation is not through the bone i am beginning to think this is why there are less pains. Report It Hi,, i have a good friend that was in Nam,, he has problems,, he just goes in to the VA,, so they can realign his leg...better padding and such,,,,, Try seeing a hypnotist who can help you manag the pain. Or a naturopath could prescribe some supplements to ease the discomfort. Maybe you could find a support group with others in the same or similar situations.I cannot relate to your situation but I had a tummy tuck almost a year ago and I get an itch where there is no tummy anymore and it drives me mad not having anything to scratch at...good luck with finding some relief. Have your prosthetist chek your limbs alignment and length. |
