are there any websites for amputees tthat sell items to help them with every day activities such as buttoning shirts , eating utensils, etc.? Kee Riced !! You lost your arm? I'll see if I can find some sites for you pal. your insurance company should have a catalog. mm not sure maybe try googling it or check yahoo and search for equipment for disabled. www.amputeesupport.org/ Why haven't you had the benefit of occupational therapy? These therapists work with upper extremity amputees and teach a patient how to compensate for the problem, usinfg adaptive equipment and artificial limbs. Ask your doctor for a referral. They didn't go over this stuff with you in PT?!?!?! Adjustment and daily activities for recent amputees is pretty garden variety stuff. Call with any problem, Anytime: Here's a site that may help: Hi, there. Try the sites that follow. If you can't immediately find what you're looking for, try searching for "personal care, dressing aids" or similar words. Good luck! For help with clothing, I would hire someone to sew you special clothing. speak with your surgeon and look into an independent living center in your area -this is a non-profit agency that provides many services. |
