Hi im linda and my sister has asthma she hasnt had an attack for 19years and 5 days ago she took 1?

hi im not sure but she takes painkillers and she might have long time effect but the doctors dont know and they dont know whats wrong as she should be responding and able to breath as shes venilated and i think she takes amphetamines at weekend she is in intensive care and i dont know what 2 do can anyone please please help me please thank you

certain foods like dairy can bring on an attack...snorting anything will, or smoking. so she should get of the amphetamines, they create crystals inside the body, really bad for lungs. also certain plants can set off attacks as well privet and there others

I don't quite follow all of your question but if she is being ventilated then you need to be asking the people in intensive care, they will know far better than us lot on YA.

If it offers any info, I get asthma and used to be addicted to amphetamines for a couple of years and it had no affect on my own asthma. My best wishes to your sister.

hello. your sister is at a hard place, but is in an ICU (your words) a good friend of mine in high school had/has asthma. It was hard to see him 'go down' from the affliction (we played on the tennis team) Since then (many several years ago) he's become married, they have children, and live somewhere in the bay area. Life goes on, even when faced with an affliction like asthma.

I can understand that you are very worried about your sister. It is quite common for a person to be admitted to ITU without a diagnosis being made initially. The doctors and nurses will be doing everything they can to look after her. They will also be carrying out various investigations which may aid them in their diagnosis.

Try not to worry, your sister is in the best place for care in a hospital.
