What's the best non-prescription supplement to improve memory and focus?

It's getting close to my next round of exams again and I need a boost. I don't want to get involved in prescription amphetamines, and energy drinks tend to just give me excess energy and a counterproductive inability to focus. I've heard good things of ginkgo biloba extracts. I've heard 'ginkgold' is quite good. Any input is appreciated. My spending limit is about $50 and I'd prefer purchasing it online.

i use siberian ginseng and ginko biloba. both are available at your local grocery store and about 10 bucks a bottle. my cousins' wife has been studying alternative medicine for about 4 years now so i called and she recommended those two.
ginseng has a calming effect for me and that is very important when going into an exam. if you're looking for a natural energy boost try bee pollen. it's inexpensive as well.
i went back to school at 35 and the anxiety of learning to learn again was almost overwhelming and those basic supplements really made a noticeable difference. i'm not sure how much was just in my mind but whatever works works.

A easy-to-read book that explains the memory systems and gives lots of examples is "The Memory Book" by Harry Lorayne. For students like you, his other book, "Super Memory, Super Student" may even be better, since it explains how the memory systems can be used to memorize course work like chemistry, math, and so on.

To improve your memory generally, you will probably need to make some lifestyle changes. There has been a lot of research lately about memory.
