I'm having The Amniocentesis Test. What does it feel like ? |
Is it dangerous for Baby ? I have had two done--20 plus years ago. Don't remember much except the long needle. I don't remember any pain with it. My opinion--there is danger in lots of things but good luck to you and I'm sure things will go well. Just stay calm. (My doctor had just reprimanded the nurse for opening his sterile equipment--and I was feeling sorry for her--so I had something else to think about. lol ) UNLESS THERE IS A MEDICAL REASON I WOULD NOT HAVE THIS TEST DONE There's a little bit of pressure but certainly no pain. It can be dangerous for the baby if you move around a lot. They will perform an ultrasound at the same time so that they can see where the baby clearly is and just collect the fluid in the sac. It's been about 10 years since mine, but that's how I remember it. do you have to get it?its some very serious side effects talk with your Dr if you have doubts. |
