Will my amenorrhea affect my future fertility? |
I'm 16, haven't had a period in 7 months, and before that, hadn't had one in 5. I'm 5'1, around 90 something pounds, excersize only around once or twice a week, and am a semi-vegetarian (I eat poulty but not red meat). I feel disgusting because all my friends have regular cycles. I think your weight is definitely related to not getting a period. I would talk to a doctor about this because it sounds like your metabolism could be seriously out of whack. I know a girl in college who eats everything she wants and she's as thin as you are. She enjoys being thin without exercising so she doesn't care about it, but it's not healthy. Sometimes weight is related to hormones as is my case. Talk to a doctor about it. And yes, in some women that does effect their ability to get pregnant, but talk to your doctor about the specifics on that. hello! given the history you've put down, i think that you should really see your obstetrician-gynecologist and have yourself checked. there are many conditions that can cause you to be amenorrheic, chief among them would be a hormonal imbalance. Nutrition could also be a factor why you aren't getting regular periods. |
