Why does short-term starvation cause long-term amenorrhea? |
And how can the hormonal problems be repaired naturally if a person is already at a healthy weight +natural weight and takes full steps for nutrients? (100% multivitamins, omega-3s, antioxidants, recommended fruits and vegetables, etc.) Well starvation (I do not know how long is "a short time" is it days? weeks? months?) is a major shock to the body and the body uses all its reserves to fight against this starvation. This changes the metabolism and might cause, among other things, hair loss and also amenorrhea. I have no idea how much harm did you cause but I guess things will, eventually, settle back to normal. |
