Went to doctor for pregnancy, and now am being sent to hospital for ultrasound. Should I be worried.?

Last period was March 3 and should be 11 weeks and 1 day. Doctor put down reason for ultrasound as amenorrhea.

amenorrhea is the medical term for "ceasation of menstrual cycles" ...which happens when your pregnant :-)

The doctor is checking your dates , to see how far along you are . They chose Amenorrhea as the diagnostic code to be submitted to your insurance , to pay for a 1st trimester ultrasound . it's just all billing and coding regulations . Nothing to worry about.

Relax...and enjoy your ultrasound.

From what I gather, nowadays everyone gets an ultrasound - so no don't worry, it is just procedure.

you shoudn't be worried, its a noninvasive test focuses high frequencymsound waves over abdominal organ to detect any abnormalities. you should not take any food or water at least six hours for better visualization. Good luck!
