Alzheimer's vs. strokes?

How can you tell the difference between mini strokes and early onset Alzheimer's?

Alzheimer's is a neurodegenerative disease and as such progresses over time, usually a long period of months to years. It starts with a person being forgetful, distracted etc. and progressively moves on to personality changes and eventually to incapacitation. Symptoms in Alzheimer's do not improve.

Mini stroke is defined as the starvation of brain tissue for oxygen, to an extent where it is severe enough to cause symptoms (for example numbness and paralysis of one side of the body) but clears up within 24 hours. There are no residual weakness after this. If symptoms are still present after 24 hours, it is defined as a stroke. A stroke/mini stroke is sudden in onset. Usually, over minutes to hours. Depending on which part of the brain is involved, motor function is frequently compromised (so tingling, numbness, inability to move, weakness) as opposed to Alzheimer's where motor function is preserved until late.

These are just a few differences between the 2. Of course you can do the fancy imaging as well. Though I would still bring whomever it is to the doctor..... as with therapy, the progression of Alzheimer's can be slowed, and the prevention of further strokes can be put in place.

Lab tests, an MRI and/or a CT scan

the course of it (i mean how acute)
physical examination looking for any associated neurological deficit
and of course CT or MRI

alzheimer's is a terrible disease that attacks the brain.
During a few of the stages of alzheimer's, the patient might recive a number of "mini strokes"

The difference:

alzheimer's : You Dont die OF it, you die with it .
Strokes : There is a slight lean to one side. You can die of this
