Alzheimer's,Dementia,Rehab does it run in the family?

My Dad died at 67 with alzheimer's. My mom diagnoised 6 years ago with Dementia. Little sister back in Rehab for the 5th time today. She does not want to live even tho she has 3 kids. We dont know how to help her anymore. We are mostly chasing my mom around. Is there hope and do you think she may think "she has no chance anyway" just wondering?

Well ................. speachless .... me too!

Yes, they do run in the family. Repeated rehab could mean a genetic pre-dispostion to addiction issues. Alzheimers is also genetic.

You are brave to come foreword with this and seek public opinion. It will be your safety net also. When depressed and destroyed the one thing you need is a new friend who will be impartial in judging what you say and do. Families are the best of times and the worst of times. Yes mental failures do pass on with the family and on in the culture but not with the society. In every social group there are winners and loners. The one fourth don't seem to realize what life is all about and they flounder and become outcasts and then depression chemicals destroy the mind. If you can see this is true I can help you further. Every Alzheimer patient I know of was in a part of their life where they didn't struggle anymore. It was too easy . Personally I see a virus infecting the idle brain sections. Chemicals released in the brain can destroy it.
