History of alzheimer's in my family? |
All the males when they get older in my family have Alzheimer's or some form of it. Scientiests have found a couple of genes that are significantly linked to Alzheimer's. One of the genes is called ApoE. You can get tested for this, but I don't think insurance will cover it, and it will probably be expensive otherwise. never smoke.dont drink to excess.dont take recreational drugs.keep ur mind active throuout life.excercise regularly.eat a good diet.control fat intake.hopefully, since scientists are working on treatments and cures,by the time ur old enough to develop it,there will be a cure I'm 45 and I'm worried too that I'll get it. My mom has it and my grandma had it before it ever had a name. Go to the link below and it will tell you all that you can do to help prevent it. The good news is that new meds are coming out that will help us prevent it. Try not to worry you are young and hopefully healthy....keep up with the healthy the next 60 years and I'm sure you will be OK. Good things to you. ;-) |
