I'm a 19 year old male. What can I do now to live as long and as well as possible?

I mean, how and what should I eat, what's the best amount of time to sleep, advice on exercising, etc. I know people usually start worrying about this when they are in their 40s, but I want to know what I can do know to live as long and as well as possible. I hear stories of people who's quality of life declines sharply after about 25 or 30, but I also hear of some people who are able to maintain the same quality of life from young adulthood almost until their deaths (barring anything like Alzheimer's that I might develop shortly before I die).

Don't drink, smoke or do drugs, use sugar and salt sparingly.

Drink lots of water, have a well balanced diet rich in veggies, fruit, whole grains, protein, fat (the non trans kind).

Don't eat processed crap. If you don't understand the ingredient label put it back on the shelf.

Excercise 2-4 times a week. A combination of cardio and strength training would be optimal.

And most importantly:
Breathe

I am not being funny here; correct breathing is the crux of a healthy balanced life.

Eat lots of Quaker Oatmeal. It's the Right Thing To Do And The Right Way To Do It!

Workout and eat healthy...

excirsise eat well if your windering about medicine then ask your dr but your 19

u shouldn't eat fast food a lot (once a month). u should eat things like salads but they shouldn't have croutons or dressing (maybe croutons, very rarely). thats how i live and i'm a thin machine. trust me this will help.
Exercise at least 2 times a week (i exercise 3 times). Summer is very good for swimming (swimming works out your muscles and body). also u should do something like football, basketball, etc.

Don't smoke, exercise regularly, eat a diet with lots of fruit and vegetables, limit your intake of red meat, have a glass of red wine every day and practice safer sex

Live life to the fullest cause the grim reaper can come and getcha at anytime.

My great-grandmother is 103 years old. She is still alive. Based on her, I think you should drink enough liquids. Also, she drinks JAPANESE GREEN TEA. I think JAPANESE GREEN TEA is the key to living long.

dont fall in love and expect your woman to be faithfull...wemyn cant do it! and eat good...blah blah blah!

Good organic food
Stay away from pesiticdes
Find a gal for a great sex life
Don't get fat
Stay away from smokers
1 or 2 drinks a night max
Exercise at least 4 hours a week

Well, for starters, smoke only cigarettes and marijuana - stay away from crack - that stuff will kill you.

Seriously - just keep yourself lean and in shape, eat what you enjoy but don't over-eat, while limiting fried and fatty foods. You shouldn't worry so much about how long you're going to live - reality is, you have little control over the situation as long as you don't let yourself become overweight and take care of yourself. Just look at Jim Fixx - the guy who really developed running for health purposes - had a heart attack and died from jogging.

Live for today - you never know what tomorrow holds, and quite honestly, there's not a whole lot of benefit to living into your 90's and beyond, as you'll likely watch nearly everyone you've ever known die, which could include your own children.

,start walking and WALK.i'm in my mid sixties and still walk some every day.don't use tobacco, alcohol or drugs.keep the amount of suger you consume down and don,t sit at a desk in a air conditioned room all your life find a job that will keep you moving and on ocasions sweat some, and last but not least get plenty of sleep.

Find a career that requires 2 parts
physical labor, to 1 part mental
input.
Then, in your off hours, do puzzles,
computers, cards etc.
Drink milk.
Eat veggies, fruits and cereals.
Chicken, Turkey & fish. Not too
much steak.
Stay away from sugar and salt.
Don't smoke, and limit your
alcohol intake.
( some reports suggest that 19 yr olds
today, could live to be 150 years old.)
Anything's possible, but it takes our
effort.
