Do doctors want to decrease the chronically ill? That is not what they say to their friends.?

I was reading an article in Salon about "Sicko" and understood why doctors don't tell their patients to have their children in their 20s to early 30s. Doctors of all kinds thrive from sickness They don't care if people have kids in the mid thirties on and have autistic or diabetic kids. It may seem weird that I never realized that clearly before. Is this an obvious truth? So autism, diabetes, Alzheimer's, cancers will continue to rise and people will continue to believe that there is no male biological clock.

When I was in my 20's, my doctor actually did sit down with me and explain that it was in my best interests to have children sooner rather than later...better for my health, better for the children's health.

Doctors as a group tend to be highly ethical people and do try to improve people's health. I won't say that there are no exceptions, but there is surely not a conspiracy among doctors to keep people sick and cause more disease. I sure hope the movie does not advance this conspiracy theory. It was my impression that the movie was more about the problems with the health insurance industry (but I haven't seen it yet).

Edited to add: I saw the blogs you referenced, and it seems that your big concern is the increase in certain disorders with increased paternal age. There certainly is some evidence for that. My obstetrician did tell me about that as well -- after I was already pregnant. It would be a good idea if people were better informed about this issue.

Actually we do not thrive from sicness, we thrive from humman stupidity (exactly like yours)...

There is no such thing as a male biological clock (if you are refering to sperm regeneration, that occurs every 2 weeks, for all males, all over the world, all mamal males for that matter, throughout their lives after puberty kicks in, some times sooner, but always untill they die, unless a sickness kicks in that affects sperm production).

Now, you don't like doctors? Fine... Hope (really from within my heart) that you never ever get sick. Though highly unlikelly...

My (totally free of charge) advice??
GET A GRIP!!!

There is no conspiracy. People have sex . Sex leads to pregnancy. Pregnancy leads to children. You can't dictate to people whether to have or not have kids. Whether to smoke or not smoke. Overeat or not overeat. Drink or not drink.

I doubt that biological clocks have as much to do with inherited diseases as the fact that the parents already have the gene to predispostition to a disease (even when they are young). The only inherited disorder that increases with age of the parents that I know of is Down's syndrome. Sure there could be other ones, but it hasn't been proven yet to my knowledge.

By the way, the person above me if they are a doctor, then I wonder how they got through medical school without learning to spell and why they would use the ID of night stalker (the name of a serial killer).

There is not a conspiracy among doctors to encourage people to have children later in life. There is a small increase in problems when the mother is over 35. The reason more and more people are delaying childbirth is due to changes in society. People used to get married right out of high school and start having kids. Now more women are going to colleges and delaying starting a family until their career is on track. It is a personal choice. Also, birth control is much more readily available now than it was a few decades ago giving women more control over their bodies and decreasing the "surprise" pregnancies.

You can have a child with the conditions that you mention at any age.
Do some proper research instead of believing what you read in the gossip magazines at the salon.

The whole medicine thing really took off when the governments realised that they needed a strong healthy population to succeed. Money was invested & healthcare became accessible. All to keep us healthy. Mainly so we can fight wars. It goes against this if we are encouraged to have kids later, risking complications to the mothers & future generation. I've never read a bit of positive research about having kids late.
