Alternative Medicine in America in comparison to the UK?

I have been browsing the net for job opportunities and courses in alternative therapies, but there is very limited information on the net from the US or Canada, way less than I was expecting and the wages did not really translate like i had expected.

Is Altenative medicine not as easily available and practiced in the mainstream as it is inthe UK or do most employers just shy away from the use of modern technology?

If there is such a thing as an average price, how much is the average charge for say a rreflexology treatment or indian head massage or aromatherapy?

how wide is the gap between the higher end practitioner and your local friendly therapist?

alternative medicane in the us isn't readily talked about. many doctors here don't see it as credible due to the way they are taught in medical school. if you want specific information you really have to dig and search for it. sorry.

Be more specific as to what type of alternative medicine you are talking of and i could possibly be more helpful. I know acupuncturists need to be licenced to be able to practice. And different states will vary.

Where I live - Cda. - alternative medicine runs from $40 - $60 for a good Reiki Treatment, massage is about the same.
My Chiro charges $25.
Refexology is about the same $30 to $50
I guess you need to ask around locally, in my district alternate
medicine is very popular.

I am assuming with the examples you have cited that you are talking about alternative medicine such as massage. reflexology, indian head massage and aromatherapy are all clasified under massage in most of the U.S. Each state has its own laws and even then a lot of states are not regulated so the cities regulate the masssage industry. Now massage is very prevelant but it all depends on where you are looking to go. Some places pay better some worse. Right now i am in Austin and mine average after tip is between 25-30 take home. But i am in a lower end spa. when I was in california i made a little more but as a therapist you had to license under adult entertainment and it was very degrading. In Tx you get a state license and it is through the health department. So you are considered a health care worker. There is no such thing as an average price in the U.S. but it is a capitolist society. The prices all very according to each place. The high end practioner makes a lot more then the average therapist but it is all on whether you are willing to hustle work and how hard you are willing to work. If you have anymore specific questions feel free to contact me.
